Amid pick-up in domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market, cardamom prices were up by 0.26 per cent to Rs 1,410 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April rose by Rs 3.60, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 1,410 per kg in a business turnover of 32 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in May edged up by Rs 1.30, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 1,380 per kg in 2 lots.
Analysts said, building up positions by participants couped with uptick in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
