Cardamom prices edged up by 0.20 per cent to Rs 729.40 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions amid a firm trend at spot markets.
Besides, tight stocks position in the physical market due to restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August rose by Rs 1.90, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 929.40 per kg in a business turnover of 222 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in September edged up by 40 paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 913.90 per kg in 30 lots.
Analysts said besides pick-up in spot market demand, restricted supplies from producing belts led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
