The sources said the FIR was lodged at Naini police station of the district's trans-Yamuna region by FCI Regional Manager B M Raut, under Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code which pertains to criminal breach of trust by a public servant.

Raut has alleged in his complaint that he suspected 13,000 tonnes of rice and 37 tonnes of wheat to have been siphoned off by officials posted at the Naini depot during August-December, 2011 as records regarding the same could not be provided to him despite repeated requests for the same.

Yesterday, a two-member team constituted as per the directions of FCI General Manager Anurag Gupta had also conducted a raid at the depot following which a decision to lodge a police case was taken.

Depot in-charge M A Siddiqui and a number of other officials have been named in the FIR, police sources said.
