CBI today carried out raids on the premises of some railway officials in Rajasthan in connection with alleged irregularities in government projects.
The raids were conducted in Jaipur, Alwar, Hanumangarh and Ajmer for irregularities and loss to the government in works related with improvement of platform and approach road at a railway station under the North Western railway, a CBI spokesperson said.
Then senior divisional engineer (Coordination) Om Prakash, then Divisional Engineer (North) Baljit Singh, then Divisional Signal and Telecom Engineer V K Sharma, and then Divisional Finance Manager Girish Sharma are under the CBI scanner for allegedly entering into a criminal conspiracy with a railway contractor Nihal Singh Gujjar, he said.
Further details in the matter are awaited, the spokesperson said.
