A rights group today alleged that the CBI was attempting to shield the culprits in the September 2011 Gopalgarh firing incident.
"The CBI was attempting to save the real culprits and had quietly filed the final closure reports in 14 cases registered on the complaints of victims during the last hearing in the court to effectively close the case against some cops who were allegedly involved in the firing," Mohammed Hasan, a member of the Rajasthan Muslim Forum said today.
A land-related dispute had led to a group clash in Gopalgarh town of Bharatpur district prompting the police to open fire, claiming ten lives and injuring 45 others.
