The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has warned the public about fraudsters posing as its officers and asking people to deposit money in bank accounts.

It has issued a notice asking the public not to fall prey to such traps.

The CBSE said recently, instances have come to its notice where "some unscruplous callers/cheaters", posing as CBSE officers, asked people and students to deposit money in bank accounts "promising to facilitate them in CBSE".

"These fake callers make calls from different mobile numbers," the CBSE notice said.

Senior officials said that in some cases, the board brought the matter to the notice of police officials concerned.
