CCTV cameras soon outside Haryana colleges for women's safety

Press Trust of India Chandigarh
The Haryana government today said the colleges and institutes of higher learning in the state will soon have CCTVs installed at their gates with a view of ensuring security of women.

"The CCTV cameras would help authorities keep a strict eye on the goings-on outside the colleges gates," state Education minister Geeta Bhukkal said in a statement here.

Regarding the problem of different courses and subject combinations being faced during recruitment of teachers, Bhukkal said that the issue would be solved at the earliest.

A discussion on the above matter has already been held with the chairman of the Teacher Recruitment Board.

On the question of improving the rate of admissions in government schools, the minister drew attention to various schemes like 'Parvesh Utsav' and 'Class Readiness Programme', which had led to an increase in enrolment.
