Chief electoral officer L Venkateshwar Loo on Wednesday expressed deep concern over the low percentage of polling registered during Parliamentary elections here.
Addressing a seminar as the chief guest at Hindi Bhawan, Loo said Ghaziabad is a very well developed district even then voters are not exercising their right to vote.
He said Ghaziabad registered only 56 per cent voting in the parliamentary elections. "Even after 71 years of freedom, the public is facing civic problems and the masses are not electing appropriate candidates. Till electors don't maintain distance from wealth, wine and gifts, appropriate candidates will not be elected.
