Chain-snatcher, accomplice arrested in Nashik

Police have arrested a chain- snatcher and his accomplice in the city.

The chain snatcher, Kiran Chhagan Sonawane (22), was arrested last evening from his plush three-storey house at Ashvamedh Nagar in Nashik's Peth Road locality, an official at Panchavati police station said today.

Sonwane's accomplice Vilas Mirajkar (27), a resident of Laxman Nagar, was also arrested.

Mirajkar allegedly used to rent his motorcycle for Rs 1,000 per hour to Sonawane for chain-snatching and other crimes, police said.

Several theft cases are registered against Sonawane at Mhasrul, Panchavati and Yeola police stations in Nashik.
