Chain-snatcher held, aide on run

Police today recovered gold jewellery weighing 440 grams from a man who was allegedly involved in 17 incidents of chain snatching, a senior officer said.

Rayavalasa Santhosh Kumar, along with his associate Dhoni Yellaji was allegedly involved in 17 such cases registered against them under Pendurthi and Gopalapatnam police stations limits in city during 2012-2013.

Police are looking for another accused Dhoni Yellaji.

The accused is barber by profession while Yellaji is an auto-driver, DCP (Crimes) T Ravi Kumar Murthy said, adding that the duo had allegedly snatched gold jewellery weighing around 600 gms in the past.
