Chana futures down 0.49% on profit booking

Chana prices declined by 0.49 per cent to Rs 6,056 per quintal in futures trade today as participants booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June drifted lower by Rs 30, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 6,056 per quintal with an open interest of 14,350 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in July declined by Rs 20, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 6,150 per quintal in 6,300 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by traders at existing levels, fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly pulled down chana prices.
