Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid pick-up in demand at domestic spot market and restricted supplies from producing belts, chana prices were up 0.89 per cent to Rs 4,410 per quintal in futures trading today as traders built up fresh position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April rose by Rs 39, or 0.89 per cent to Rs 4,410 per quintal with an open interest of 17,910 lots.

On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in January 2016 contracts edged up by Rs 3, or 0.06 per cent to Rs 4,742 per quintal in 14,620 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices to pick-up in demand at the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
