Chana remained weak for the second day in futures trade today with prices falling by another 0.82 per cent to Rs 4,218 per quintal after participants trimmed holdings.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April fell by Rs 35, or 0.82 per cent to Rs 4,218 per quintal with an open interest of 28,910 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in far-month May weakened by Rs 29, or 0.67 per cent to Rs 4,289 per quintal in 11,110 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by traders on the back of adequate stocks in the physical market kept chana prices lower but some domestic demand capped losses.
