Chana prices rose by 0.30 per cent to Rs 3,054 per quintal in futures trade today after speculators created fresh positions, tracking a better trend at spot market on pick up in demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June rose by Rs 9, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 3,054 per quintal with an open interest of 1,31,510 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in May edged up by Rs 6, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 2,991 per quintal in 42,420 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators due to rise in demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from producing regions helped chana prices to rise at futures trade.
