Amid pick up in demand at domestic spot market and restricted supplies from growing regions, chana prices were up by 0.51 per cent to Rs 4340 per quintal in futures trade today.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April month rose by Rs 22, or 0.51 per cent to Rs 4,340 per quintal with an open interest of 32,720 lots.

On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in May contracts traded higher by Rs 21, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 4,413 per quintal in 17,040 lots.

Analysts said apart from pick up in demand from dal mill in the spot market, restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in chana prices at futures trade.
