Charge sheet filed against three accused in gang rape case

The Goa police today filed a charge sheet in the magistrate's court against three Indore residents in the case related to a gang rape of a 20-year-old woman at Betalbhatim beach.

Ram Bariya, Sanjeev Paal and Ishwar Makawana, who were visiting the state as tourists, are accused of raping a woman in front of her boyfriend in May this year.

They were arrested within two days of the incident by Colva police.

"We have filed a 292-page charge sheet against all three accused. They are charged with rape, robbery and criminal intimidation under the IPC apart from other relevant laws," said a senior police official.
