IFFI-awarded Bengali film on dwarfs, 'Chhotoder Chhobi' will be now released on January 23. In a unique first for any Bengali film, the promotional track has been recorded in a London church to add up to the poignant note of the film on the world of dwarfs.
"I have composed the lyrics of the song which has been set to tunes by Indradeep Dasgupta and brought alive in Anupam's full-throated voice," director Kaushik Ganguly said. The recording took place in the church studio to the accompaniment of violin, cello and accordion.
"The innocent feel in Anupam's voice matched well with the simplicity of the people I talked about in the film," Kaushik, director of 'Apur Panchali', another film having been awarded in IFFI 2013, said.
Dulal Sarkar, the protagonist in SVF production Chhotoder Chhobi, had been adjudged as the best actor in the IFFI, 2014.
