Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said the Chotta Ghalughara monument, built in the memory of Sikhs killed in the massacre of 1746, will be developed and mordernised to attract more tourists.
Badal, who visited the memorial, said functions will also be held annually at the monument to highlight the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
Dignitaries from across the globe will be invited to apprise them about the rich history of Punjab, he said.

Badal said the green belt in the memorial must be aptly developed on the lines of Shalimar Garden in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister further said booklets will be made available at the memorial, so that the younger generations can be made aware about the countless sacrifices.
