CID officials visit Murshidabad area to probe explosives find

A team of CID officials today visited Ajagarpara More of Raghunathganj area of Murshidabad district as part of its probe into the recovery of 100 kg of explosives from the area last Sunday.
According to a highly-placed source in CID, the team's prime objective will be to ascertain from where the explosives - Ammonium Nitrate and Sulphur - were brought into the area.
"A team of CID officials have visited the place. They are primarily looking for the source of the explosives. From where they were brought into the area," the source said.

Two suspects, residents of Suti in the district, were arrested for their alleged involvement in the case.
In fact, CID officials would question the two arrested in this connection.
"We are also in talks with the sleuths of the central investigating team which are also simultaneously probing the case," he said.
Stating that some terrorist groups are trying to destabilise peace in the state before Independence Day, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee yesterday ordered a CID probe into the matter.
She also warned of receiving a detailed input from the Intelligence Bureau in this regard and claimed that a particular political party was encouraging such terrorist groups, though she refrained from naming the party.
Intelligence Agencies had earlier sounded an alert of a major terror attack in Kolkata and across the state on or before August 15. Following the alert, security has been beefed up in the entire state.
