Circle officer killed in road accident in Bihar

The Circle Officer (CO) of Pipra-Piprati in East Champaran district, Manoj Kumar, died in a road accident near Bankat village on National Highway 28 in Gopalganj today.

Police officials said the 50-year-old CO, a resident of Patna, was traveling in a SUV from East Champaran towards Gopalganj when a bus rammed his vehicle from the opposite direction. He was killed on the spot.

Another co-traveller Akeel Khan was seriously injured in the accident. He has been admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.

Gopalganj ASP Anil Kumar said, "The bus-driver fled away with the bus. The dead body has been sent to hospital for postmortem and we are investigating the matter further.
