A CISF jawan today died at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here in a freak incident.
A senior airport official said the jawan Gurucharan Singh, a resident of Odisha, was walking along the service corridor of lounge number five to check security arrangements ahead of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's arrival when he fell down.
The corridor with polycarbonate coatings suddenly gave way as Singh was walking and the jawan fell 15 feet down, the official said.

An unconscious Singh was hospitalised and died soon afterwards, he said.
On being told about the incident, the CM visited the spot and expressed grief.
She also condoled the bereaved family.
