Civilian contract worker found dead in naval base

A civilian contractual employee was found dead at a naval base here this morning in a suspected case of accidental death, the Navy said.

37-year-old Michael G, hired byZoom Enterprises, for working at INS Dronacharya (gunnery school of Navy), was found dead inside the base, a statement by the Navy said.

"It is a suspected case of accidental death," it said without elaborating.

Police are investigating the incident, the statement said, adding the body has been sent for postmortem to the general hospital at Ernakulam.

The deceased was unmarried and a resident of Fort Kochi, it said.
