A class IX student immolated herself allegedly after a fight with her younger sister over not wanting to go to school, police said here today.
The two sisters, residents of Kalyanpur area here, used to go to school together everyday but on Wednesday, Vineeta (14) did not feel like going and therefore, tried to convince her younger sister Sangeeta to not go as well, they said.
As Sangeeta, a class VI student, refused to comply, the two sisters ended up fighting.
Following this, Vineeta locked herself in a room and immolated herself.
Hearing the girl's cries, Vineeta's mother along with the neighbours broke open the door and rushed the girl to a hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
