Cloud burst in neighbouring Nepal and subsequent heavy rains there caused unprecedented floods in Kheri and Bahraich districts of Uttar Pradesh, state's Irrigation Minister Shiv Pal Yadav today said.
Pointing towards necessity of a barrage in Nepal to put effective check on floods in UP, Yadav said "this is a national issue and the UP government had written a letter to the Union government in this regard."
He criticised the centre for not cooperating in tackling flood menace in UP.
