Akhilesh issued the directive during the Janata Darshan programme at his official residence here, an official spokesman said.
The Chief Minister, who met people coming from different parts of the state, said effective disposal of applications received during the Janata Darshan should be done.
Around 5,000 applications were received during the Janata Darshan, the spokesman said adding the CM directed that they should be forwarded to concerned departments.
A US citizen Joa Jawar also came to meet Akhilesh to apprise him about problems of rickshaw pullers in Varanasi.
Taking update of applications received during the last Janata Darshan, Akhilesh issued directives to Principal Secretaries, departmental heads and Divisional Commissioners to make special efforts to resolve problems of the people.
He said Commissioners should review applications related to their divisions and inform the CM about the action taken. PTI AVA PG RKC
