Coal Ministry allots two mines to NLC

Government has alloted two coal mines in Odisha to public-sector Neyveli Lignite Corporation for the power projects of its subsidiaries.

"The Ministry of Coal has conveyed the allotment of Talabira-II and III coal mines in Odisha to NLC by the competent authority in order to meet coal requirements for the power projects by NLC's subsidiary companies," Neyveli Lignite Corporation said in a notification.

NLC Tamil Nadu Power Ltd has undertaken a 5 MTPA (million tonne per annum) power project, Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Ltd is constructing a 10 MTPA project and Sirkali Power Projects has undertaken a 20 MTPA project, it said.
