Indian Coast Guard should work towards timely completion of important projects including Coastal Security Network, Defence Secretary Radha Krishna Mathur said today.
Inaugurating the 32nd annual Coast Guard Commanders Conference, Mathur acknowledged its contribution towards the security of the nation and complimented its rank and file for exhibiting tremendous zeal and tenacity while discharging their duties.
The conference, scheduled for three days, will have Coast Guard commanders discussing the myriad challenges confronting the service in the maritime domain, an official statement said.

Mathur also expressed satisfaction with the progress and expansion of the service which includes induction of the state-of-the-art ships and aircraft.
Indian Coast Guard Director General Vice Admiral AG Thapliyal highlighted in his speech the progress made by the service across the entire spectrum of activities.
