Condition of Amarinder Singh's mother stable

Press Trust of India Chandigarh
The condition of Mohinder Kaur (95), mother of Chief Minister-designate Capt Amarinder Singh, who was unwell and admitted to PGIMER here last night was stable.

Kaur was initially admitted to a private hospital in Patiala as she was unwell but later shifted to the Gastro-enteritis division in the PGIMER here.

"Her condition is stable and doctors are monitoring her closely. During the day, she was shifted to a private ward," a hospital official said.

Kaur is a former Congress MP from Patiala. Her 75-year-old son Capt Amarinder Singh, who is the State Congress chief, will take oath as Punjab's next Chief Minister here tomorrow.

Congress had won 77 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly, results of which were declared on March 11.
