Condition of bus stands inspected

Gagandeep Singh Bedi, the one-commission probing the roof collapse of the bus stand in Somanur, which claimed five lives in September, today inspected the condition of the bus stand in Annur, about 35 KMs from here.

The inquiry into the bus stand collapse at Somanur was progressing and the commission has to collect some more technical details before submitting reports to the government, Bedi told reporters.

Five persons, including three women, have been killed when the roof of the bus stand collapsed on September seven.

The commission would also inspect the condition of bus stands in nearby town panchayats, he said.
