Experts and officials from various states and the Centre will gather here to review and monitor the ongoing schemes and laws for senior citizens.
The Social Justice Ministry is organising a national council of senior citizens to deliberate upon national policy for senior citizens and other related laws on August 30, a source said.
Besides, the participants will also review the working of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, it said.

The participants and concerned state government officials will also review the programmes--Integrated programme for older persons, Indira Gandhi national old age pension scheme and national programme for health care of the elderly.
The purpose of organising this conference is to review and monitor the ongoing schemes and laws. And at the same time take feedback from all stakeholders, the source said.
