Pakistan today expressed confidence of successful culmination of its all-out offencive against the Taliban in the restive North Waziristan tribal region in which over 200 alleged militants have been killed in three days.

"I am sure it will be a great success at the end of the day," Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit told reporters when asked about the ongoing Army operations in his country.

The death toll in three days of fighting has risen to 212, including the 25 killed today.

The army wants to complete the operation before start of the holy month of Ramadan later this month, an official said in Pakistan.

The operation has been named 'Zarb-e-Azb', which means "Strike of the Prophet's Sword".

The lawless North Waziristan is considered to be a haven of the Pakistani Taliban and al-qaeda linked terror groups including the infamous Haqqani terror network.

However, some of the Taliban groups have switched sides and will escape the military onslaught.
