Puducherry unit of Congress today condemned the killing of 20 woodcutters from Tamil Nadu in firing by Andhra Pradesh police and demanded the arrest of the personnel involved in the action.

PCC president A V Subramanian in a release here said the April 7 incident was most 'shocking and spin chilling and deserves to be condemned as most inhuman and unimaginable'.

Accusing the NDA Government at the Centre of not showing any concern over the incident and its stand also deserves to be condemned, he said.

When the Centre was showing keen interest to prevent cow slaughter and eating of beef, it was maintaining silence in the context of the 'killing of human beings' by the Andhra Police and the Andhra forest officials, he said.
