Public darshan of the presiding deity at the famous Ramanathaswamy temple here will not be allowed for five days from January 16 ahed of the consecreation and devotees cannot have holy dip at the 22 sacread water sites there during this period.
The devotees can not have darshan and take holy dip in the 22 wells inside the temple during this period, temple Joint Commissioner S Selvaraj told PTI today.
After the consecretation on January 20, devotes can have holy dip and darshan, he said.
Tight security would be provided for the ceremony with 1,000 police personnel being deployed in the island, he said.
Large number of devotees from varius parts of the country, especially from northen states visit the temple.
