Constable crushed to death at check-post

The constable, Yogendra Gujar, gave a signal to stop the the vehicle at a check-post in Mahwa area last night, but its occupants ran over him, breaking the barricade, police said.

When a police team chased them, the accused fired in the air and escaped after leaving the vehicle behind.

The constable who was seriously injured was taken to hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Police have seized the vehicle and search is on to nab the accused.
