A 26-year-old constable today allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district, police said.
Constable Santosh Kumar, who was attached to 9th battalion of APSP, shot himself with the weapon in Renigunta area of the district at around 4.45 AM, a senior police officer said.
"The constable was facing a case in Vijayawada under IPC sections 420 and 493 following a complaint by a woman with whom he allegedly had an illicit affair," he said.
Further investigation was on.
