Contractor shot dead at PWD office in UP

A 33-year-old contractor was shot dead and his private security guard injured at the PWD office here on Monday afternoon, police said.

Some contractors were at the office when the firing took place at the Public Works Department (PWD) office in which Rajesh Rakesh Yadav was killed and his private security guard, Kuldeep (32), suffered injuries. Kuldeep was rushed to a private hospital, SP S Channappa said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, police said.

CCTV footage is being examined and thorough checking has been launched, the SP added.
