Copper prices on Thursday gained 30 paise to Rs 441.20 per kg in futures trade after participants raised their positions amid pick-up in demand in spot market.
On the Multi commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November contracts was trading higher by 30 paise, or 0.07 per cent, at Rs 441.20 per kg in a business turnover of 1,672 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December edged up by 25 paise, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 446.35 per kg in 50 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to raising of bets by participants, driven by a pick-up in demand in spot market.
