Tracking a firm trend overseas, copper and nickel strengthened by Rs 5 per kg at the local non-ferrous metal market today.
Besides, pick up in demand at the domestic markets too supported the upside.
Marketmen said the rise in select base metal prices was mostly attributed to a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME) as improved sentiment in China bolstered base metals prices.

Globally, copper for three-month delivery rose as much as 0.6 per cent to USD 5,074 a metric tonne at the LME.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) strengthened by Rs 5 each to Rs 367 and Rs 845-850 per kg, respectively.

Zinc ingot Rs 102-108, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 845-850, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 367, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 89, lead imported Rs 95, aluminium ingots Rs 146, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 142, aluminium wire scrap Rs 142 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 140.
