Copper weakens on global cues, spot demand

prices were trading down by Rs 3 per kg at the market today on tepid demand from consuming industries amid weak global cues.

Traders said, apart from a weak trend overseas, low demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot market, influenced prices.

Globally, prices for delivery in three-month fell 0.2 per cent to USD 7,295.50 per metric tonne on the London Exchange.

In the national capital, mixed scrap fell by Rs 3 to Rs 435 per kg.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 140-146, nickel plate (4x4) Rs 865-870, gun metal scrap Rs 227, bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 435, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 139, lead imported Rs 146, aluminium ingots Rs 168, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 164, aluminium wire scrap Rs 164 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 162.
