Copra Alapuzha gains on rising demand

Copra office Alapuzha prices gained further at the spices market here today due to rising demand from stockists and exporters.

While, black pepper and ginger declined further due to lower export offtake.

All other spices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Copra office Alapuzha climbed by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,600 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 6,500.

However, Black pepper eased by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 685/745 as against Rs 690/750 yesterday.

Ginger bleached and unbleached moved down by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 170 and Rs 190 from Rs 175 and Rs 195, respectively.
 

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 685/745 (690/750),ginger bleached (per kg) 170 (175), ginger unbleached (per kg) 190 (195), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,600 (6,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,400 (6,400), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 14,000 (14,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,800 (7,800).
