The Rajasthan Police today pasted a notice at the house of slain gangster Anandpal Singh asking his family members to accept his body within 24 hours, failing which the department would cremate the body.
"A police team went to his house in Sanvrad village to serve the notice but they did not accept, so the notice was pasted on his house today," Nagaur Superintendent of Police (SP) Paris Anil Deshmukh told PTI.
The family members of Anandpal have refused to take his body, demanding a CBI into his encounter killing.

The body has been kept at the mortuary of the Ratangarh (Churu) Hospital.
The SP said that over 100 people have been taken into custody since Sunday to maintain law and order in the area and that the situation was under control at his hometown.
In Ratangarh town of Churu district, the district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC to prevent any protest if police conduct the funeral.
Additional SP Churu Kesar Singh Shekhawat told PTI that the notice was issued to his mother, wife, uncle and other family members last night under the Rajasthan Police Rules, 1965.
Additional SPs Kesar Singh and Yogendra Faujdar, several circle officers and SHOs with police force have been camping in Ratamgahr.
"Tight security arrangements are in place and any attempt to disturb law and order will be dealt strictly. If the family members fail to take the body, the police will conduct the funeral as per the rules," he said.
A dreaded criminal, Anandpal was killed in an encounter on Saturday nigh in Malasar village in Churu where he had taken shelter in the house of Shrawan Singh.
Shrawan Singh and his family members have also been arrested for providing shelter to him.
In Jaipur, various Rajput organisations also demanded CBI inquiry in the killing.
In a joint press conference, the leaders of various organisations including Rajput Sabha Bhawan, Pratap Foundation and Karni Sena demanded a CBI inquiry into the encounter.
