Cottonseed oilcake prices improved by Rs 15 to Rs 2,586 per quintal in futures trading today as participants expanded their positions, taking positive cues from firm spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, cottonseed oilcake for delivery in August month contracts rose by Rs 15, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 2,586 per quintal, having an open interest of 43,190 lots.
On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in current month was trading higher by Rs 7, or 0.28 per cent at Rs 2,535 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 66,660 lots.
Marketmen attributed rise in cottonseed oilcake prices to widening of positions by speculators driven by a firm trend at the physical market.
