Preparations are on to erect a scaffolding to reach the flagpole of the country's largest and tallest tricolour atop Ranchi's Pahari Temple after it slipped following high winds on Sunday last and then got stuck half mast due to a technical problem.

"We are erecting a scaffolding to reach up to the flag height (which) will take 3-4 days to reach that level," Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar told PTI here today.

Mukesh Agarwal, the spokesman of Pahari Mandir Vikas Samiti, said a team of the Army (from Dipatoli Cantonment) had yesterday inspected the spot and mulled options to reach there.

The 66 ft high and 99 ft wide flag was hoisted on a 293 ft tall pole by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on January 23 this year.
