Couple arrested for kidnapping nephew in Punjab

Police today arrested a couple for allegedly kidnapping their 12-year-old nephew from Faizulla chak village here.

SSP Gurpreet Singh Toor said Anayat Masih, a resident of Daizulla chak had lodged complaint that his 12-year-old-son Amanpal was kidnapped last evening when he had gone to collect feed for animals.

Police then launched a search operation and found the boy at the house of Balkar Singh, who is brother-in-law of the complainant and Balkar's wife Bimla.

Police nabbed the couple for allegedly kidnapping the boy.

However, the cause of kidnapping was yet to be ascertained as investigation was still in progress, he said.
