Couple dead after car hits bike

A middle-aged couple was killed after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding car in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district, police said on Friday.

The accident occurred near Mahua village in Girwan police station area on Thursday night, police said.

Radheyshyam (44) and his wife Raj Kumari (40) died on the spot, Assistant Superintendent of Police Lal Bahadur Kumar Pal said, adding that the bodies had been handed over to the family after post-mortem.

The driver fled the spot with the vehicle, the officer added.
