Couple killed in road mishap in Rajasthan

A couple was killed after the motorbike they were riding on collided head-on with a jeep on Kota-Jaipur Highway near the railway station here, police said today.

The deceased, identified as Member Banjara (35) and his wife Santrabai (30), were killed in a head-on collision of their motorbike with a jeep last night, they said.

While Banjara died on the spot, his wife succumbed to injuries at a hospital here, police said adding that the bodies were handed to the family after post mortem.

According to police, the jeep driver had fled from the scene leaving the vehicle behind and efforts were on to nab him.
 

A case has been registered under relevant sections against him and the jeep the vehicle has been seized.
