A local court has acquitted Sumit Bhuttan in the murder of his wife Ruchi Bhuttan, whose body was found hanging under mysterious circumstances at the drawing room of her house in DLF City here in 2011.

Durgesh Boken, counsel of Ruchi's family, said they will challenge the order in Punjab and Haryana High Court.

He said Addition District and Session Judge Phalit Sharma acquitted Sumit yesterday on the basis of the documents and witnesses produced before the court.

Based on family's complaint, Sumit was booked under charges including murder and harassment for dowry, and later arrested, police said.
