Court awards life imprisonment to 3 youth for man's killing

A special court awarded life imprisonment here today to three youth for killing a person.

The sentence was awarded by Special Judge A K Paliwal to Sonu Soni (33) Ritesh Bairagi (33) and Jeetu Maratha (30) under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code, the prosecution said.

A fine of Rs 1,000 each was also imposed on the convicts.

Special Public Prosecutor Anand Shrivastava told reporters that the trio had killed Bharat Marath over a dispute after their motorcycles had collided.

They murdered him by attacking him with a sharpedged weapon.

The prosecution had produced 16 witnesses in the case.
