CPI-M politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai today criticised Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for not resigning despite the Kerala High Court making critical observation against the CMO while ordering a CBI probe into the land grabbing case involving his former gunman Salimraj.

Addressing a meet-the-press in Thrissur Press Club, Pillai said the lame justification of Chandy that he had not been heard by the court was quite strange and it was with a view to sticking to the Chair of the Chief Minister like a 'limpet', Pillai alleged.

Chandy was bound resign respecting 'parliamentary fairness' and convention of the democracy, Pillai said.

He claimed neither the NDA nor the UPA could form a government of their own after the Lok Sabha elections as the 'democratic, secular and left forces' were gathering momentum.
