CPIM today dubbed as 'anti-poor' the Centre's proposal to extend on a pilot basis the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme in three union territories, including Puducherry, for foodgrains and kerosene supplied through PDS.
State unit CPI-M Secretary R.Rajangam in a release here said the proposal would hit the common man, particularly the poorer sections as the inflation was playing havoc in prices of essential goods.
The Narendra Modi led government was going in for an 'injurious' approach and the proposal to adopt the scheme on pilot basis in three Union Territories-Puducherry, Chandigarh and Dadar and Nagar Havelli-should be dropped.
